We are an industry leader offering bucket-list experiences. Our company pioneered luxury adventure-cruising along the Kimberley coast more than 30 years ago and now conducts equally breathtaking voyages all around the Australian coastline and in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
An adventure with the multi-awarded True North Adventure Cruises is not just another expedition cruise! We curate activity-based itineraries that are designed to satisfy the world’s most discerning travellers. Our itineraries are intended to be life changing and it is little wonder that our guests often remark “that’s the best holiday that I have ever had!”
We are an inductee of Tourism Western Australia’s Hall of Fame and a multi-winner of Luxury Travel Magazine’s Gold List Awards. In 2017, a holiday on-board the True North was also included in the Chad Clark Certified 25, a first-of-its-kind initiative that lists the world’s top 25 travel experiences.
The True North is purpose-built to go where other ships cannot and we explore even further in six dedicated adventure boats. Daily activities can include snorkelling, diving, fishing, mud crabbing, hiking, scenic tours, picnics, natural history appreciation, cultural events and, most itineraries also feature a ship’s helicopter. Guest numbers are limited to 36, an Australian crew of 22 chaperones every experience and we have a revered reputation for dining experiences.
Destinations include the Kimberley – a panorama of rugged mountains, spectacular gorges and majestic waterfalls; the still-wild coast of Western Australia featuring the intriguing Abrolhos Islands, world-famous Ningaloo Reef, fishing paradise at the Montebello Islands and, the pristine Rowley Shoals; the dragons on Komodo; the breathtaking islands of the Raja Ampat; the whale sharks of Cenderawasih Bay; the mighty Sepik River and the un-spoilt islands of Papua New Guinea; mysterious Bougainville; beautiful Sydney Harbour and, a seafood safari around the delightful Eyre Peninsular!
Founding director, Craig Howson, has a passion for new destinations and we will soon introduce two brand new itineraries to our already adventure-soaked sailing schedule – Adventure South West (Esperance to Rottnest Island including the Margaret River wine region) and the Wonders of Wayag (Raja Ampat Marine Park).
Our success has resulted in exceptionally high levels of repeat and referred business and our guest loyalty is revered throughout the tourism industry. The variety of destinations on offer (together with the regular addition of new itineraries) creates a constant demand for cabins.
